Ft. Bragg 1969 Basic Training class book, with BSM and citation.

The lot consists of a standard
style Army
Basic Training Class Book from Fort Bragg for Company A, Fifth Battalion, First Brigade class for 17 March to 9
May
1969. Based upon material that came withthe book, this one was the property of Linwood E. Mizell, who was likely from North Carolina based on his SS#. The book was in a fire at some point, which charred the bottom edge and top right corner, however the book must have been pressed between other books, as the inside damage is almost all from water. Several of Mizell’s classmates have signed their pictures.
Located between the pages was found a Bronze Star Medal, showing wear and dirt, but no fire damage. It is unnamed and missing the pin. With the medal were a BSM Citation named to Specialist Four Linwood E.

Airborne Division (Airmobile). There is also a copy of the boilerplate citation.These two documents show some effects of the fire and water, but do not affect the appearance.
