Description
Selling a very rare mint boxed Telor 85mm f/2 lens block. It is basically a copy of the Zeiss Planar cine lens design with perfectly concentric diaphragm at all aperture settings, thanks to the amazing 18 blades. It has 48mm mounting thread and can be easily adapted to M42 or other mounts with a 52-48mm step-down ring and M52-M42 25-55mm focusing helicoid. If you want, you can also add your own aperture control ring (58mm diameter), but it can be easily controlled as is.The lens comes with the original cardboard case, which was still factory-sealed when I first opened it. Its technical passport shows that it was produced in 1962 and was tested to have a resolving power of 84 lines per millimeter (ln/mm), which is still quite high even by modern standards.
It also has the original front and rear metal caps.
The glass is like new with no noticeable defects.
The image quality is excellent, with great sharpness and nice slightly retro bokeh.
The aperture ring rotates easily, and the diaphragm is perfectly circular. Obviously, there is no focusing helicoid as it it meant to be mounted in your own helicoid as you prefer.
This is a very rare lens to be in such condition, since most of them where used in harsh industrial applications and their state deteriorated.
