Up for auction is a UHL black art pottery round ball jug, pitcher. It is in good condition. There are no cracks or chips, but obvious in the photos is the seam where the handle was applied.
Each piece of pottery is individually handmade. This means that there are never two pieces exactly the same. There are always some minor variations. This shows the hand of the artist and does not take away from the value of the piece. It actually adds to its unique charm.
This piece is part of a amazing warehouse find of new-old-stock NOS products. Most Items are from the 1940's thru the 1960's imported from Italy, Germany and Japan. All items are original crate packed goods. U.S. zone, Germany, Occupied Japan, Murano, Deruta, Capodimonte are some of the markings found on this massive Mid-Century warehouse inventory.
