    Description

    This is for the U.S.S. WHETSTONE, LSD-27 WESTPAC 1966 Cruise book.
    "There was a war going on in Vietnam and once again Whetstone was called upon to haul the goods.  The last few days before our departure were spent loading what seemed to be an endless flow of Marines and their equipment. Then, with out goodbyes said, it was 11 February 1966 and we were on our way".
    This is a rare Vietnam War era, Original Cruise Book of the U.S.S. WHETSTONE, LSD-27 .  This is not an ex-library Cruise Book.
    This cruise book is in very good condition.  There are very minor signs of  rubbing on the corners and top/bottom of the spine.  The binding is tight and there are not any loose,missing or cutout pages. The lettering on the front cover remains in very good condition (see photo). The
    text/photos
    remain sharp and crisp.

    The only writing in this book is an inscription made by the Editor to his parents (see photos).
