Vintage Argentina Gauho Leather Riding Crop / Whip, Silver & Gold Handle

This listing is for an amazing vintage riding crop/whip most likely made in Argentina for Gaucho use. The crop is made of creamy colored Alpacca leather with the silver top having gold embellishment. Although we found no silver marking, the silver is believed to be .800 or .830 silver with the gold areas being untested. We are selling this riding crop as a work of art and not for the silver/gold content. The silver has an embossed flower and foliage design with a polished silver crest shaped medallion on the front that is engraved "S A". There is also a leather strap attached to the handle for carrying. This is a very high quality riding crop that was probably owned by a very prominent equestrian.
This beautiful riding crop measures 34" long (not including the leather strap handle) with the leather measuring 1 3/4" wide. The silver handle measures 5" long. Combined weight is 9.1 ounces.
This nice riding crop is in very good to excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws other than reflecting minor signs of normal wear. There is some heavy tarnishing on the silver in the deep recessed areas and around the leather strap/handle that would be discolored with heavy polishing. The leather has signs of normal wear and aging but is overall in very clean, undamaged condition.
